Participatory Communication proposal funded by Section and Working Group Project Fund

The Participatory Communication Research Section had a project accepted for funding by the Section and Working Group Project Fund. The GBP 1,000 grant was used to partially fund an IAMCR 2016 pre-conference Communication for development: building knowledge, skills and criticality in the field.

The aim of this project is to host a pre-conference to the IAMCR annual conference in Leicester UK to bring together students, academics and practitioners in the area of development communication, to build knowledge, skills and dialogue. This pre-conference builds upon a pre-conference held in Hyderabad, a session at last year’s conference in Montreal, and future plans to create a space for discussing development communication and rural communication within IAMCR.
