Some of IAMCR's thematic Sections and Working Groups publish or are affiliated with journals dedicated to their research areas.

The Political Economy Section collaborates with China Media Report, a Chinese-language, open-access, international journal devoted to sustaining scholarly dialogue between China and the world. The journal publishes cutting-edge research papers, in-depth literature reviews, and latest book reviews.
IAMCR's Community Communication and Alternative Media section collaborates with the Journal of Alternative & Community Media, an international journal publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research. The journal has been closely connected to the section from the beginning. It is edited by a former section Vice-Chair, Susan Forde, and published by Intellect.
IAMCR's Diaspora and Media Working Group collaborates with the Journal of Global Diaspora and Media, a peer-reviewed journal that provides a platform to theorize the complexities of the notion of diaspora and investigates the representations of diaspora people in both diasporic and mainstream media from an interdisciplinary approach.
IAMCR's International Communication Section collaborates with Global Media and China, a peer reviewed, open access, scholarly journal that provides a dedicated, interdisciplinary forum for international research on communication and media with a focus on China.
