Countdown to IAMCR 2016

IAMCR 2016 will feature plenaries, special and invited sessions covering topics from jazz to peace journalism to the BBC. There will also be pre-conferences, social activities and the core programme of papers that highlights the diversity and richness of media scholars and of IAMCR's 31 thematic Sections and Working Groups.

With two weeks to go until IAMCR kicks off at the University of Leicester, here are some of the things you can look forward to if you are attending the conference.

Check out the programme!

The most up to date version of the conference programme is now online as an interactive app embedded in the conference website. You can browse through the many sessions and activities, If you login, either with a sched.org account or Facebook, you can start preparing your personalised schedule. If you're using you mobile, try the link for both iPhone and Android. The app will hold all of the details on conference events, important information, FAQs, maps of the local area and information on social visits. It will work online or offline and will guarantee you'll have all of the necessary information in your pocket when you need it.

Abstracts and papers

The more than 1,300 abstracts for papers and panels that will be presented at IAMCR 2016 are available for download as a series of abstract books for each section and working group. You can read the abstracts of the other papers being presented in your own session or any session that interests you. Download the abstract books

All the submitted full papers have been made available to section and working group heads, who may choose to distribute them to panellists, moderators and members of their section or working group. We hope this will contribute to the quality of discussion and collaboration at IAMCR 2016. Contact the heads of your section or working group if you want access to any of the papers before the conference.
