Legal Affairs
The Office of International Standards and Legal Affairs provides centralized and independent legal advice to the General Conference, the Executive Board and other intergovernmental bodies, including those established under UNESCO Conventions, as well as to the Secretariat, Institutes and field offices of the Organization worldwide. It contributes to the normative mandate of the Organization and to the rule of law by interpreting UNESCO’s legal framework and providing legal service in the day-to-day implementation of its mandate.
