EUMEPLAT - Horizon 2020 project meeting in Ghent
(23-11-2022) The Centre for Cinema and Media Studies (CIMS) of the Department of Communication Sciences will host the meeting of the Horizon 2020 project EUMEPLAT from 14 to 16 December 2022.
The EUMEPLAT project aims at analysing the role of media platforms in fostering or dismantling European identity. Drawing on the assumption that the European dimension has rarely been dominant in media history and focusing on the "platformization" process and its positive and negative externalities, EUMEPLAT’s main research question is whether new platforms will strengthen European media culture industries. This three-day meeting will mainly focus on the representation of gender and migration in Europe.
