Tampere University is a community of 21,000 students and over 4,000 staff members. The University was created in 2019 through a merger between the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology. Our university has seven faculties.

Our Centres of Excellence carry out body-on-chip research and study game cultures, among other things. The University is home to more than 100 active research groups and centres, and we have countless research projects underway.

Juniversity offers exciting activities for children and young people
Juniversity is a university for children and young people. Juniversity offers science outreach activities to learners attending pre-schools, comprehensive schools, upper secondary schools and vocational schools and fosters positive attitudes towards science. In addition, Juniversity supports teachers by enriching learning.
ECIU - the European Consortium of Innovative Universities
Tampere University is a member of the ECIU University. The ultimate goal of ECIU University project is to establish a true European University where learners, researchers, business, public organisations and citizens are enabled to create relevant innovative solutions for real life challenges with real societal impact.
