Submission Information
General: We do not charge authors to publish in PRism. However all work must meet PRism's relevancy and rigor standards before it is accepted, as determined by the Editor and Editorial Board, and work published in the refereed section must successfully pass double-blind peer refereeing. Submissions must not have been previously published, and should not be before another journal for consideration. Articles should be academically rigorous (e.g., methodologically and theoretically sound, and thoroughly researched and referenced).
Topic: We primarily publish works on public relations, but will also consider manuscripts from organizational communication, intercultural communication, media studies, journalism, interpersonal communication, organizational psychology, political science, marketing communication, social marketing, change communication, or any other relevant perspectives on the practice and study of public communication. We often have special issues devoted to particular aspects of the communication process and we are particularly interested to publish new and interdisciplinary approaches.
Style: As of June 2019, manuscripts submitted to PRism must adhere to American spelling conventions e.g., "organization" instead of "organisation". Referencing style must adhere to APA 7th edition.
Editorial process: We will contact you within fourteen days of receipt of your submission to advise you of one of the following outcomes: (1) desk rejection (your article is rejected because it doesn’t fall within the aims and scope of the journal, the topic is of little significance, or the standard of writing is too low); or (2) your article has been sent to review. We aim to have a decision based on review within 8-12 weeks from submission, which can include: (1) rejection; (2) revisions required; (3) further review needed; or (4) acceptance.
