Our journal collections allow you to construct, and subscribe to, a journal package covering subject areas of your choice, at a considerable discount. You will also receive online access to all back issues of each journal in your collection for as long as the current subscription year is maintained. We offer a Full Journals Collection, Subject Area Collections, as well as the option of designing your own Tailored Collection.

To ensure your Tailored Collection is processed correctly, please ask your agent to ensure the following when ordering:

If renewing a Tailored Collection, please check that the discount has been correctly applied to your invoice. Please note that discounts cannot be applied retrospectively.
Orders must be sent through to our distributor, Turpin, manually and not via FTP.
Please quote the relevant collection order code, e.g. ‘COLLECTION 7–13’.
In order to qualify for the discount, please ensure that all titles in the collection are ordered as a collection.
All titles must be ordered at the same time and on the same customer number.

Journals subscriptions are available to institutions as Print and Online or Online only. Individual subscriptions and single issues are usually Print only. Film International is available to purchase as a personal Online subscription. Single article PDFs can be purchased from IngentaConnect.

Shipping

For subscriptions with a print component, postage is included for UK, US and Canadian customers. Please add £10 per volume for EU postage and £14 per volume for Rest of World. For Rest of Americas, please add $7 per volume. Subscriptions/orders with an online component may be subject to VAT where applicable. VAT is charged on the online component for any Print and Online subscriptions (50% of the list price).

Discount codes

Personal subscribers can enter their discount code on Turpin’s website when ordering online or quote the code if ordering by phone/e-mail.

Institutions ordering discounted tailored collections, or titles using a discount code, should contact Turpin directly with their code. You can also ask your subscription agent to quote a code when ordering. Please note, institutional discount codes cannot be entered when ordering online via Turpin’s website.

Collections

Institutions subscribing to seven or more journals are eligible for a discounted Tailored Collection. There are great savings available if you subscribe to a Full Journals or Subject Collection. Collections also provide back-volume access for as long as the current subscription year is maintained. Please see our Collections page for more information.

Setting up subscriptions

Subscribers to any online content will need to activate their subscriptions through our online hosting partner, IngentaConnect. See below for full instructions or download this PDF.

Institutional subscribers

If you have not already registered your institution with IngentaConnect, please click here. Further information and registration guides are available on our Information for Librarians page.

If your institution is already registered on Ingenta, simply log into your account here with your administrator username and password. Click on ‘Administration’ (listed under the sign in box).

Under ‘Subscriptions’, select the ‘Set up subscriptions’ option and click on the 'Add' tab. Then choose your subscribed title from the alphabetical list.

Note: if you have subscribed to a collection, you only need to select one title in the collection to activate the entire collection. Or, select your collection from the ‘Connect Collections’ link.

Enter your Turpin customer number (beginning CU-), which should be listed on your payment receipt/invoice in the box next to your chosen title. If you do not have your customer number, please contact Turpin, who will be able to send this to you. Once you have entered your customer number, click on the 'Add' button.

Journal subscription policy

Orders are processed once payment is received. Print copies will not be sent, nor will online access be granted, until payment has been received. Please pay in UK currency if ordering from within the UK, EU or Rest of World (ROW), and in US currency if ordering from within the US, Canada or Rest of Americas (ROA).

Subscriptions are on a full volume (calendar year) basis. Subscriptions provide access to the year/volume purchased only. Back-volume access is not included unless purchased separately or included as part of a Tailored, Subject Area or Full Journals Collection. For further information on collections please see our Collections page. Online access to purchased volumes is perpetual. Issues will be sent/access granted when the first issue of the subscribed volume is published, with later issues in the volume sent as and when published.

No cancellations will be accepted. No refunds or returns, unless under exceptional circumstances, will be granted. Subscriptions, including two-year subscriptions, cannot be cancelled part way through the subscription term.

Please allow four to eight weeks for receipt of printed copies. Claims of non-delivery require proof of payment. Claims for missing copies must be submitted within six months of the publication date.

In the absence of a separate licence agreement, all Intellect journal sales follow the SERU guidelines, as published on the NISO SERU website.

Free online access for developing countries

Intellect invites institutions from eligible developing countries to claim free online access to our Full Journals Collection through our partners Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL). The list of eligible countries has been drawn up using UN and World Bank data of lower income countries. Please go to EIFL’s site here to view the list of eligible countries and download the application form.
