Call for Papers
Special Issue on Women's Writing
The Text invites research articles(2500-5000 words) on interdisciplinary and intersectional approaches to women’s writing. We welcome diverse perspectives and approaches on global women’s writing. Mere summary of works will be rejected.
We also accept creative writings on lived experiences of women. Short stories, poems, general essays, and reviews are welcome.
Last date for submission: 30 January 2023.
e-Processing fee will be levied for selected papers.
Fee structure:
Research article - Rs. 1000/-
General essays – Rs. 750/-
Stories/poems/reviews - Rs. 500/-
Author's Guidelines
Research Articles
We invite theoretically informed critical and analytical research papers.
Note:
Scholars are requested to strictly follow the latest MLA style sheet.
Please ensure the manuscript is error-free.
Do not decorate your submission with lines, borders, special characters etc., which may lead to rejection.
Any form of academic misconduct will not be entertained.
Plagiarism report of the research paper duly checked in Turnitin/Urkund/Viper should be attached.
We do not accept simultaneous submissions.

Fiction
We consider well-written micro-flash(100-500words)/flash fictions (600-1500 words) and short stories (1500-7500 words) in any literary style.
Submission: one per person.
Limit: not exceeding 10000 words.
Note: Please provide a short bio-note of the author.
Poetry
We accept poems in any form/style.
Submissions: three per person
Limit: not exceeding 10 pages (single spacing).
Note: submit all the poems with a short bio-note of the author in a single MS Word file.
Translations
We are looking for exceptional unpublished English translations of short plays,short fiction, nonfiction, poetry and interviews from all languages.
Submission: 1 per person
Limit: Not exceeding 30 pages (single spacing).
Note: Please provide a short bio-note of the translator and original author no more than 200 words in length.
Translators should obtain permission from the author/copyright holder to translate before submitting the translated work.
Please provide copy right details and year of publication of the original work (source text)
Interviews
We accept interviews in English and in translation.
Submission: 1 per person
Limit: not exceeding 10 pages in single spacing.
Note: Provide a short bio-note of the interviewer and interviewee (not more than 200 words in length).
Book reviews, review articles and critical notes
We welcome short critical notes (500-1000 words), review articles (3000-4000) and book reviews (1000-1500 words) of new/recent works.
Submission: 1 per person
Note: include a short bio-note of the author (not more than 200 words)

We do not consider simultaneous submissions.
any withdrawal request shall not be entertained after 7 days of submission.
We consider only works written in English or translated into English.
We do not accept work that has been previously published online or in print.
We do not accept multiple submission. Please provide all the required materials in a single MS Word file.
We do not accept submissions in hard copies. Send all your submissions only through e-mail.
Proof read and double-check the work before submission.
Expect 4-8 weeks for response.
We do not issue certificate of acceptance in soft/hard copy.
Unethical authorship and publishing practices are not entertained.
Plagiarised content will not be considered for publication.
Editorial decision on the manuscript in the selection/publication process is final.
Author/translator bio-note should include name, designation, official address, contact number and e-mail.

Special Issue
The Text invites proposals for special issues throughout the year that focus on research topics that intersect language, literature and critical theory.
Academicians, conference/seminar organisers are encouraged to guest edit special issues on their areas of expertise with The Text.
Guest editors are responsible for reviewing the special issue papers and provide the final version of the manuscript to The Text.
The final version of the special issue should fulfill the expectations/criteria of The Text.
The proposal should include a tentative title, concept note, word limit, an estimated number of articles to be published and a tentative time frame for submissions and publication.

For seminar/conference proceedings that are to be published as special issues, e-processing fee will be charged.
