How and when do I know if my proposal has been accepted?

IAMCR sections and working groups will notify you about their decisions by 15 March 2018.

How and when do I submit my full paper if my proposal was accepted?

You must submit your full paper electronically no later than 28 May 2018. The submission link will be available starting 20 March 2018.

How do I register for the conference?

Registration opens on 8 March 2018 and will be available at http://iamcr.org/oregon2018/register.

How much is the registration fee and what does it include?

Your registration fee will include entrance to conference, lunch and coffee breaks for each day (20-24 June 2018), a welcome reception on the evening of June 20, and participant materials. Accommodations, pre-conference and post-conference events are not included.

Is there a registration discount?

Early bird registration will be available until 7 May 2018.

How can I pay the registration fee?

The payment of registration fees can be made by credit card. In some cases, international bank transfers will be accepted.

How do I register for a pre-conference or post-conference?

Pre-conferences and post-conferences will have their own registration policies and procedures.

Are grants available?

IAMCR and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) are offering fifteen (15) grants of up to US$1,500 to early-stage scholars, who are members in good standing of the association, reside in low and middle income countries and have papers accepted for presentation. The grants can be used to offset travel costs and registration fees.

Do I need visa to visit the United States?

Requirements and procedures to obtain US visas vary from country to country. We suggest that you check the US Dept. of State sites:

It is generally recommended to apply for a B-1 or B-2 visa. If you need a visa, it is strongly recommended that you start the process well in advance and follow the guidelines of the US Embassy in your specific country.

How can I receive an official invitation letter to the conference?

An invitation letter confirming your acceptance to present or participate in the conference will be issued only upon request. We encourage you to check the U.S. Dept. of State site (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en.html) and the U.S. Embassy where you will be applying for specific guidelines.

Please note that IAMCR, the LOC, and the University of Oregon will not be financially responsible if you do not obtain a visa.

Where and when will the conference take place?

The conference will be held from 20-24 June 2018 at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, USA. (https://uoregon.edu)

Accommodation questions

The University of Oregon is a residential campus, which means that it has a variety of superb living spaces. Accommodations on campus will be available from US$50-80 per person, per night, with breakfast included.
