Revisions and Proofing

Authors should ensure that their submissions are in the journal’s house style. Revised versions should normally have changes tracked or highlighted, or in some circumstances be accompanied by an anonymous letter explaining the changes.

Upon acceptance of an article by the issue or journal editor, we ask that authors provide clean (i.e. with no comments or tracked or highlighted changes), corrected and final versions of their articles in the journal’s house style. This “final” version of the article will then be copyedited by the issue editor, in liaison with the author. The “copyedited” version of the article will then be sent to the journal editor for typesetting and proofing. A “proof” pdf will then be sent to the author (cc’d to the issue editor), and the author will be asked to check and confirm the proof. If necessary, corrections and other minimal changes can be made, either by annotating the pdf, or by listing requested changes in a separate document. There will be only one round of proofs. Once the editor receives a response from the author and makes any necessary changes, the article will be scheduled for publication, appearing immediately on our blog, and as part of an issue of the journal at a later time. There will be no further occasion for changes to be made.
