IAMCR Travel Grants for Istanbul - Deadline 15 April

suitcase2In 2011 IAMCR is dedicating more travel support than ever to young scholars. Ten travel grants worth US$1,750 each will be offered to offset the cost of participating in the conference in Istanbul, Turkey. The deadline for applications is Friday 15 April 2011.

The grants will be available to young scholars (35 years of age or younger as of 13 July 2011) who are current IAMCR members. Nine of the grants will be reserved for scholars residing in low income countries and one will be offered to a post graduate student from last year's host university, the University of Minho, in Braga, Portugal.

All grant recipients must have an abstract accepted for full presentation at the conference. Announcement of abstract acceptances will be made by March 25, 2011.

Nine grants will be equally distributed between the African, Asia-Pacific and Latin American/Caribbean regions.

Letters of application should be sent by Friday 15 April, 2011 to grants2011 [at] iamcr.org. Please include a brief biographical statement or CV, clearly stating your age, a copy of your accepted abstract, a copy of the message from a Section or Working Group coordinator confirming acceptance of your abstract and full contact details (postal address, telephone, email).

We will advise successful applicants of our decision by Wednesday 20 April, 2011 and they applicants must send their 3,000 to 5,000 word paper by 03 June, 2011. The scholarship reserved for a student from the University of Minho in Portugal will be decided by the organisers of IAMCR 2010 conference.

The grant money will be paid in Istanbul during the conference.
