New titles in Palgrave/IAMCR Series
Three new books have been published in the Palgrave/IAMCR series, Global Transformations in Media and Communication Research.
The Theory of the Social Practice of Information is an English translation of texts by the Italian communication theorist Francesco Fattorello. In this book, Fattorello addresses the differences between contingent and non-contingent information. The theory is translated into English for the first time and is contextualized and put into a historical framework with additional text by Professor Ragnetti.
Power, Media and Culture is an English translation of a book originally edited in Spanish by Luis Albornoz. The book updates and revalidates critical political economy of communication approaches. It is destined to become a work of reference for those interested in delving into debates arising from the performance of traditional and new media, cultural and communication policy-making or sociocultural practices in the new digital landscape.
Advancing Media Production Research, edited by Chris Paterson, David Lee, Anamik Saha, Anna Zoellner, is an anthology that explores challenges to understanding the nature of cultural production, exploring innovative new research approaches and improvements to old approaches, such as newsroom ethnography, which will enable clearer, fuller understanding of the workings of journalism and other forms of media and cultural production.
