Conference description: The Centre for Research on Communities and Cultures at Canterbury Christ Church University (UK) invites submissions for this IAMCR 2016 pre-conference, which will mark the eightieth anniversary of the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. During this two-day conference, we will examine the intersections between memory, truth, justice, ideology, the state and conceptions of the future, considering the role of the media, notions of collective identity and the place of new generations in relation to the continuing struggle over public memory in Spain.
