The 13th Moscow Readings Сonference Is to Begin on November 18, 2021
On November 18–19, 2021 the Faculty of Journalism, MSU will hold the 13th International Media Readings in Moscow ‘Mass Media and Communications-2021’. The topic of the conference is ‘Mediating Digital Society and Individuals: Journalism and Communication in the Times of Uncertainty.’

Registration fee
Moscow Readings conference does not have conference registration fee, although all costs will have to covered either by the home institution or by the presenters themselves.
Publishing opportunities
Best papers will be considered for publication in peer-reviewed Vestnik Moskovskogo universiteta. Seriya 10. Zhurnalistika (Scopus, Web of Science) and World of Media. Journal of Russian Media and Journalism Studies (Scopus).
The 13th Moscow Readings conference will be organized as a live virtual conference. We are looking forward to meeting you at the virtual platform in November 2021.

The conference is aimed at discussing significant transformations of media under the influence of digitalization, media convergence, mediatization of the society, deprofessionalization of journalistic work, the development of new active audiences which take over some functions that have been traditionally performed by journalists, and other processes.

Professor Denis McQuail passed away
Dear friends,
With deep regret and sorrow we have to inform you that on June 25, 2017 Denis McQuail, the author of "Mass Communication Theory" and other publications on media and society passed away. Denis McQuail was a member of international board of NAMMI and our long-standing friend and colleague.
Denis McQuail was Professor Emeritus at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Visiting Professor at the University of Southampton, Great Britain, Honorary Professor at the Ghent University, Belgium and Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia. Professor McQuail was one of the world-renowned media theorists and an author of a famous theory of communication.
We are proud to have known him and we are sure he will be greatly missed by many in media and communication field.
